Peer Mentor Network

Need a little extra support in one of your classes? Want to talk with a more advanced student who is pursuing the same degree that you are?

With its Peer Mentor Network, University Honors continues a longstanding Maryland Honors tradition of students helping students. Peer Mentors are UH sophomores, juniors, and seniors who volunteer to provide support to fellow UH students in one or both of the following areas:

  • tutoring in subjects where they have demonstrated success;
  • student-centered advice by major (e.g., recommended instructors, course sequencing).

Whether you’re a UH student seeking support or a UH student who would like to help others, please contact our Assistant Director for Student Achievement, Dean Hebert, for more information.

UH Community Guides

First-year UH students can opt in to be connected with an upperclassmen UH student as an informal peer mentor during the fall semester. Mentors connect regularly with mentees to answer questions, provide guidance, and help students to adjust to the college experience.
